The Dyson Purifier Big+Quiet Formaldehyde distinguishes itself from the Dyson HEPA Big+Quiet Formaldehyde, which is designed for office and professional settings. As the name suggests, the Dyson Purifier Big+Quiet Formaldehyde is engineered to purify air in expansive homes and large rooms, all while maintaining a noise level below 56 decibels.
Boasting the accolade of Dyson's "quietest yet most powerful purifier," this appliance exhibits a remarkable ability to process up to 87 liters of purified air per second, propelling it up to 10 meters. This impressive feat is made possible through the innovative employment of Cone Aerodynamics. Utilizing the Coanda effect, similar to that used in the Dyson Airwrap, it converges two airflow streams into a concentrated jet of air that effectively disperses purified air throughout the room.
The Dyson Purifier Big+Quiet incorporates a three-step filtration system, a signature of Dyson's premium air purifiers, with substantial enhancements. The entire system is hermetically sealed to HEPA H-13 standards, the highest tier of air filtration. Consequently, it can eliminate an astonishing 99.95% of particles as minuscule as 0.1 microns in diameter, encompassing dust, allergens, pollen, and pet hair. Moreover, the hermetic seal ensures that once these particles are trapped, they remain within the filter. For years, I naively assumed that the air quality in my home was inherently safe. Not only were the baseline air quality readings in most of my rooms higher than expected, but I was also astounded by the volume of pollutants released during seemingly innocuous activities like spraying deodorant or cooking. This revelation has led me to seek out the most sophisticated air purification technologies, and the Dyson Purifier Big+Quiet appears to be a paragon of excellence.
The fully sealed, high-grade filter and its long lifespan offer an appealing cost-saving aspect, even though Dyson has yet to reveal the purifier's price. Knowing that the smallest particles are meticulously filtered from my home is undeniably reassuring. Additionally, the inclusion of a formaldehyde filter, an unusual feature among air purifiers, piques my interest.
While the purifier's 10-meter coverage area is impressive, it is important to note that we have previously employed purifiers costing $150-$200 that were perfectly suited to the size of the rooms requiring purification. Thus, this feature seems more like a luxury rather than a necessity.
Furthermore, the use of the term "Big" in the purifier's name, which denotes its extensive coverage, also seems applicable to the purifier's physical size. In fact, it bears a resemblance to a sophisticated trash can and is not the ideal choice for individuals who value minimalist aesthetics and understated decor.
Nonetheless, the Dyson Purifier Big+Quiet serves as a reminder of the importance of breathing clean air, even within the comfort of one's home, and the peace of mind it offers is worth celebrating.
